F.A.Q's

Some frequently asked questions are answered below but if you have any other queries, please email us.

What is a false cake tier?

We can include one or more false tiers if you would like the cake to be larger than is required for the number of guests and don’t wish to pay for spare cake. The false tier is iced in the same way as the other tiers but has special polystyrene ‘dummy’ inside. It will look exactly the same as the other cake tiers and we will advise you which tiers to cut.

What is a kitchen cutting cake?

A kitchen cutting cake provides additional portions to the decorated cake at a reduced price per portion. It is made in the exact same way with just a buttercream finish. It is very useful if you would like some extra portions but not another whole tier of cake.

Can you have different flavours in each tier?

Absolutely, Most of our wedding cakes include at least 2 different flavours.

Must we have marzipan under the icing?

Iced fruit cakes require marzipan; however we can often make sponges without marzipan. We will discuss and confirm this with you before you order.
