The Design & Order Process

The start of something beautiful…

Congratulations if you are recently engaged! Choosing your cake is a fun and exciting part of planning your event, although we understand that it may appear a little daunting with so many possibilities to choose from. At Tartufi, we offer a completely bespoke service so that every detail can be to your taste. It is our job to guide and advise you so you can just enjoy the process and be inspired.

01. Design

The first step is to book a consultation with Gemma. This gives you the opportunity to discuss your unique plans for your event and any cake ideas you may already have. Gemma usually starts sketching design ideas for you during the meeting. More complex or unusual designs may require research and more dedicated design time, so final sketches and ideas will be emailed to you after the meeting.

02. Visualise

Consultations are usually held at Gemma’s home studio in Langstone, although on request she can meet you at your venue. Visiting the studio gives you the opportunity to see the close up detail of her cakes and where your cake will be created. If you are unable to visit, the design process can be carried out via email and cake samples can be sent to you also.

03. Taste

A personal consultation includes a personal cake tasting. You are invited to choose around 5 of our flavours prior to the meeting, which are then baked freshly for you. There is a fee of £30 to book a bespoke consultation and cake tasting. The fee is then deducted from the final cake price. Prior to booking a cake tasting, you may be asked for some details to ensure that we are able to cater to your requirements.

04. Order

Orders are confirmed with a 25% deposit, the balance payment being due 6 weeks before the event. We understand that planning your event can be an ongoing process so we are on hand throughout this time to answer questions and help with all the finer details. Small changes can be made to your order up until the balance payment is due.

05. Create

The week before your wedding is dedicated to your cake. Your chosen flavours and fillings are lovingly baked and prepared. Your cake is perfectly iced, stacked and decorated ready for delivery.

06. Deliver

We deliver and set up your cake on the day of the wedding. We will have liaised with your venue to ensure that everything runs smoothly and all details have been catered for. Your beautiful cake will be waiting for you when you walk into your reception.
